“TABA!”, “BABOY!”, “DUGONG!”, “BUTANDING!”, “ELEPANTE!”, “NAGMAMANTIKA!”, “BABAENG APARADOR!”

Lahat ng panlalait, narinig na nila. Pero ang tatlong babaeng ito — sina Radha, Frenchie Dy at Bituin Escalante — sabi nga sa isang kanta, “Words can’t bring them down.”

Sanib-puwersa ang tatlo sa concert na The Big Big Show sa Disyembre 3 sa The Theatre at Solaire.

Kuwento ni Radha, “Noong nagsisimula ako sa Kulya, back then I was all abs. I was keen on displaying them too, wearing these midriff-baring tops.

“Then I started getting bigger and bigger and it was… harsh. People were like, ‘Anong nangyari sa’yo? Mukha kang aparador!’

“It really gets to you.

“Ngayon, pag nakakarinig ako nu’n, I simply shrug it off. Ano pa ba ang magagawa ko kung feeling nila, perfect sila, right?

“If that’s how they want to look at me, then, fine. Ako, it’s more on proving that I’ve still got what it takes.

“I may not look the way I was but I could still sing”.

“Atsaka nu’ng sumali ako sa Search for the Star In A Million, maraming nagsabi na ‘Ah, hindi puwede ‘yan mataba eh…’

“Eh nag-champion ako. So, I proved naman na I deserve to be here in showbusiness”.

Mas palaban ang take dito ni Bituin, “I do call it out when someone says it. It’s not what you said. It’s your intent.

“I don’t let people get with it either na parang no, I’m okay. I really call it out. ‘What do you mean by that?’

“You can’t let it go. You have to point it out.

“From day one I refused to be placed in that box. I’m big, so what?

“This is who I am, take it or leave it. Thankfully, it didn’t stop me from getting to where I wanted to be in my career.

“I want to show people that there’s more to me than meets the eye and I think I’ve done well on that aspect”.

“It’s not about appearances, it’s about us being big on talent,” pahayag ni Bituin.

“All three of us have been in theater. One thing that we all share is that we like telling stories, and we also like singing.

“Iba kasi ‘yung kakanta ka at magkukuwento ka. We all like singing and telling stories.

“I think ‘yung mga kakantahin namin, kapag narinig nila, sasabihin nila, ‘yun pala ang kwento niya.

“Oh my God, ang sakit. It’s more of a storytelling night more than anything.”

Kwento ni Radha, “We’ve known each other for a long time. Our camaraderie is natural because we have similar vibe or we complement each other’s vibe.

“In terms of personality and character on stage, we all have something to offer individually.

“I’m excited because being with them kinda brings out something like I can level up more than what I usually do on my own or with other people.

“It’s not hard for us to express what we think and it’s not hard for us to argue and not, you know, to let it go beyond that”.

“The thing is, maraming nagsasabi na pare-pareho raw kami ng singing style.

“I think in this concert maipapakita namin na we actually sing different from each other pero ‘pag magkakasama na, boom na boom,” sabi pa ni Dy.
