Kung matatandaan, ilang beses na rin naming naisulat sa kolum namin dito ang pagkakasangkot  ng South Korean actress/singer na si Bae Suzy sa isang civil case dahil sa pagbibigay niya ng suporta sa isang YouTuber na diumano’y nakaranas ng matin­ding sexual harassment sa isang talent agency.

Isa si Suzy sa nag-respond dito at nag-post sa kanyang Instagram account. Dahil sikat na celebrity, mas naging maingay at dumami ang awareness sa naturang post.

‘Yun nga lang, maling studio o agency ang lumabas sa post ng YouTuber na si Yang Ye Won. Ang pa­ngalan ng Once Picture Studio ang nadawit dahil sila na ang nag-o-occupy ng location na dating address ng agency na tinutukoy ng YouTuber.

Nanghingi naman na ng paumanhin si Suzy, pero hindi pumayag ang One Picture. Instead, nag-file pa ito ng civil suit at nanghihingi ng compensation. Diumano’y nag-suffer sila at naapektuhan dahil sa pagkakadamay raw nila sa isyu.

Muling nagharap ang lawyer ni Suzy at ang Once Picture sa Seoul Southern District Courts nu’ng isang araw. Nag-plead ang lawyer ni Suzy na parang napa­kahirap daw tanggapin na dahil sa pagpo-post na ‘yun ni Suzy at nanghingi na naman siya ng paumanhin ay kailangan pa nitong magbayad ng compensation.

Ayon sa lawyer ni Suzy, “We find it difficult to accept that compensation should be paid. Suzy’s post on her social media account became as big as it did because it spread through the media and social media. This is not an issue that can be resolved by asking a few people to pay monetary compensation.

“This could become a precedent to limit the freedom of speech of celebrities. Suzy merely expressed that she agrees with the petition. Though public figures must be more aware of their words and actions due to the nature of their jobs, we find it difficult to accept the plaintiff’s assertion that celebrities must understand all facts of a situation before expressing their opinion because they are a celebrity. Also, the plaintiff claims that Suzy never apologized for the incident, but contact was made after the incident.”

Pero sinalungat naman ito ng Once Picture at sinasabing isang beses lang daw sila kinontak at through Suzy’s manager only. Sabi pa nito, “We have not seen any proactive steps made by Suzy’s side to resolve this situation.”

Dahil dito, magtutuloy-tuloy raw ang civil suit sa pagitan ng Once Picture at ni Suzy dahil hindi parehong hindi nag-agree ang dalawang side.

Sa kasong ito, kung pagbabasehan ang mga komento na lang ng mga netizen, walang duda na halos karamihan ay panig kay Suzy. Iisa halos ang nababasa naming komento o reaksiyon na obviously raw, ang Once Picture ay gusto lang na makakuha umano ng pera mula kay Suzy dahil after all, alam nito kung gaano kasikat at kayaman ang singer-actress.
