Tinugunan ng Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) Foundation, Inc. ang lahat ng mga direktiba na iniatas ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ukol sa pagsagawa ng 30th Southeast Asian Games kabilang ang pagbantay at tamang paggastos sa pondo.

Sa PHISGOC Broadcast & Communications statement, sinabi ni PFI chief executive officer Ramon ‘Tats’ Suzara, na ang Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) ang mga kumakatawan sa organizational committee at parte sa lahat ng desisyon ng PFI.

Nilinaw din niya na ang P5B budget na inaprubahan ng Congress sa gagawing SEA Games na susulong sa Nov. 30-Dec. 11, at ang P1B augmentation fund na binigay ni Presidente Duterte’y lahat nasa kamay ng PSC.

“Not a single centavo of government funds is handled by the Phisgoc,” punto ni Suzara.

“All government funds are duly accounted for, and are being disbursed in accordance with govern­ment procurement procedures performed either by the PSC or the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), as proposed by PHISGOC chairman, Congressman Alan Peter Cayetano, to ensure that every peso allotted for the SEA Games are wisely and properly spent.”

Inesplika ni suzara na ang ideal budget para sa pagho-host ngayong taon ng SEAG ay P7.5B kung saan ang PHISGOC ay tumulong na maabot ang kulang na P1.5B mula sa pagkuha ng mga sponsor.

‘Di aprubado kay Suzara na ilipat sa POC o PSC ang responsibilidad sa pag-oorganisa lalo pa na apat na buwan na lang bago ang pagsasagawa ng biennial meet dahil mapapahiya ang mga atleta at magugulo ang naitakda nang preparas­yon.

“All this talk about another body taking over the organization of the Games at this late period has not only caused apprehension among our athletes, but among our sponsors and private sector partners as well,” giit ni Suzara.

“We appeal to both the POC and PSC to work together from within the PHISGOC, where they are both prominently represented as originally intended by the President, with his vision of a multi-stakeholder approach to the organization of the Games.” Wakas niya. (Lito Oredo)
