Kung magkaroon ng pagkakataon, tutulungan ni four-time Olympic champion at US diving coach Greg Louganis ang mga Pinoy diver.
“My feeling is we are all part of one race. It doesn’t matter what country you are from. We are all one race. So to have that ability to have an impact or being a positive influence. It’s not about the country. It is more about the potential of an individual, to really cultivate that talent and give them that faith and belief in themselves,” litanya ni Louganis.
Nakikita ng legend diver na may malaking advantage ang mga Pinoy sa sport.
“I think having that familiarity with water, Filipinos have their advantage because of the genetic attributes that are part of the success they can get in diving,” hirit ng 59-year-old diving great.
Nakaapat na gold medal si Louganis sa 1984 Los Angeles at 1988 Seoul Summer Olympic Games.
Hinayag naman ni Philippine national diving team head Marie Dimanche, na wala pang pormal na programa para sa inaasam na coaching clinic ni Louganis. Pero aniya malaki ang maitutulong nito sa mga Pinoy.
“I was asking him if he would be willing to do a coaches clinic here and he said he would be willing to. Hopefully next year,” ani Dimanche.
