Tumanggi si Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno na sagutin ang tanong kung si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ba ang nasa likod ng isinusulong na impeachment case para matanggal siya sa puwesto.

“You know you want chismis already. I will not give you that satisfaction. Case closed,” ayon kay Sereno.

Kasunod ng pahayag ni Sereno ang malakas na tawanan mula sa mga estudyante na miyembro ng media sa University of San Carlos-Talamban campus kung saan ginanap, kamakalawa, ang kanyang ‘Ulat sa Media’.

Ayon kay Sereno, dapat na irespeto si Pangulong Duterte dahil ito ang lider ng bansa.

“He’s the President of the Philippines. We owe him all respect and the fact that he has mandate to lead, we must observe what the Constitution says.

I’m very professional in my dealings with all officials of government. The Constitution is a sufficient guide to help me in my conduct,” ayon kay Sereno.

Kasabay nito, sinabi naman ni Sereno na hindi siya ang tinutukoy ni Pangulong Duterte na opisyal ng gobyerno na laging magarbo ang biyahe abroad dahil hindi pa naman pinapangalanan ang sinasabing opisyal.

“I don’t know who he is referring to. Definitely not me. I don’t feel alluded to,” ayon pa kay Sereno.
