Kung magwawagi pa sila sa kanilang laban sa Tolosa, Spain sa 2017, this will make them the only choir in the world to win the Grand Prix three times!

Bongga!
Mabuhay ang Philippine Madrigal Singers!
Mabuhay ang artistang Pilipino!

Ang ‘Madz’ ay isang resident company of the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Just for the record, I am not involved in choosing the District Director of Quezon City Police District (QCPD).

“Even if the law/policy provides that the local chief executives (LCE) will have to choose one from three to five names from the list given by the PNP. Because not a single list reached me.

“In my experience as QC Mayor, it has always been (and up to this point), a district director is appointed to QCPD without any consultation or ‘courtesy’ to the LCE.

“Secondly, because I am not technically involved in the affiars of the QCPD it is imperative that the District Director/s are given full administrative and operational control over the QCPD’s rank and file.

“The QC Government continues to support the QCPD (logistically) in their efforts to curb criminality and even more the drug menace.

“As LCE, I give guidance through the QC Peace and Order Council (QCPOC) as a matter of DILG policy.

“I would also importantly note that the institution that oversees the programs and projects on the anti-drug campaign is within the province of the Quezon City Anti Drug Abuse Council (QCADAC) which is headed by the Vice Mayor.

“This practice has been adopted since the time of Mayor Adelina Rodriguez (pre-EDSA Revolution 1).

“I am not and will never involve myself to the illegal drug trade. Anti-Drug is my advocacy since I was 17 years old,” pagdidiin ni Herbert.

“As to my brother Hero, it pains me, my sister Harlene and the rest of our families that Hero is a drug dependent. It is really very painful for us.

“It is good that he voluntarily took the drug test and was found to be a drug user. He is now undergoing rehabilitation.

“Our sister, Harlene, facilitated his entry to rehab and is monitoring the progress.
“As for me, I continue my work as QC-LCE amidst this controversy.

“Thirdly, when this controversy arose, many were asking why didn’t I bother to scold, pro-actively take action about my brother’s drug use.

“Hero is 48 years old, has his own family, is independent from us. We barely see or talk to each other because we, as individuals, have our own set of lives and concerns.

“We only see each other on special family gatherings (which are few because we are a small family).

“I am proud of him because he is taking full responsibility for his actions. I believe he will also take/receive the consequences of his actions as well.”
