Hati ang posisyon ng mga senador sa pagbabawal ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kanyang gabinete na bumiyahe sa Estados Unidos.
Ayon kay Senador Panfilo Lacson, may epekto umano sa ekonomiya at seguridad ng bansa kung magkakaroon ng `indefinite travel ban’ sa lahat ng miyembro ng gabinete.
“An indefinite travel ban to the United S tates imposed on all members of the Cabinet could have adverse consequences on our country’s economy and security, not to mention the many employed Filipino immigrants there, especially if the US retaliates to the recent tirades of President Duterte,” reaksiyon ni Lacson.
Umaasa naman itong magkakaroon ng lakas ng loob ang ilang gabinete para magsalita at hikayatin ang Pangulo na ikonsidera ang kanyang kautusan.
“Considering all these, I hope some of the Cabinet members will have the courage and sensibility to speak to the President to reconsider,” sabi pa ni Lacson.
Para naman kay Senador Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, nasa gabinete aniya kung susundin nila o hindi ang utos ni Duterte.
“Nasa kanila na yan. Once they join this govt, it is presumed that they are ready to sink or swim with this govt. If they are not ready to sink then they have an option to quit swimming with this gov’t,” sabi ni Dela Rosa. (Dindo Matining/ Aileen Taliping)
