“You put so much happiness and positivity in my life that I just can’t imagine I can’t call you ever again…”

“We at ABS-CBN Publishing Inc., are all deeply saddened to hear the passing of Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago.

“For some, Senator Miriam will be remembered as the Iron Lady of Asia, a valiant public servant who refused to back down from any opponent.

“Her quotable statements in the face of any opponent of human rights and Philippine democracy serve as reminders of how bravely she fought for the Filipino people.

“For others, especially the youth, Senator Miriam will be remembered as an advocate of education and learning.

“She took pride in her personal library, a collection of books she wrote and acquired throughout the years.

“And as the bestselling author of the Stupid is Forever and Stupid is Forevermore, she was able to spread her message of love and learning to an entire country seeking hope.

“Our entire company takes pride for having been part of this very special project.

“In spite of her battle with cancer, Senator Miriam made it a point to be very hands on with the project.

“It was her quick wit and unique sense of humor that came up with that catchy title.

“And it was her timeless wisdom and love for the country that produced the quotable quotes and insightful speeches that will, no doubt, inspire many more generations to come.

“Senator Miriam was and will always be a bright example of good governance.

“It is through all her actions as a public servant, as a bestselling author, and as a compassionate Filipino that we will all feel the true lasting impact of Senator Santiago’s legacy.

“The entire ABS-CBN Publishing Inc., company extends its thoughts and sincerest condolences to the family of Senator Miriam.”
