HAVEY: Bumungad ang balita kahapon sa ABS-CBN News na in-appoint daw ang singer at dancer na si Mocha Uson, one of President Rodrigo Duterte’s fiercest supporters, na “social media consultant” sa Bureau of Customs, sabi ni Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon.
Si Faeldon ay isang dating military rebel na nagpapatupad ng malawakang reporma sa isang ahensya na sabi ni Pangulong Duterte ay isa sa mga pinaka-corrupt sa ating bureaucracy.
Ang Bureau of Customs ang responsable sa one fifth ng ating total government revenue.
“She will be the social media consultant,” sabi ni Faeldon kahapon nang umaga sa ABS-CBN.
Si Mocha ay may kontrobersyal na Facebook page, which has nearly four million likes, where she regularly engages the President’s supporters, whom she calls “Mga ka-DDS” or “Diehard Duterte Supporters.”

Ang sabi ng netizens, “Medyo OA mag-react ‘yung iba dito. Hindi porke nakasanayan n’yong gumigiling ‘yung tao eh incompetent na siya agad o di na siya deserving.
“I-judge n’yo na lang siya after several months at napatunayan n’yong wala siyang silbi, saka kayo mag-react ng ganyan!!!!! “Hayaan n’yo muna na meron siyang mapatunayan bago kayo mag-judge du’n sa tao.”
‘Yung iba, medyo hysterical May comments like, “Anooooo! Bakit pa syaaa! Ano ba ‘yung qualifications and experiences ang basis dyan?
“Sana, nag-campaign na rin ako para nabigyan ako ng magandang trabaho sa gobyerno.”
Meron pang, “Aprub, alangan naman ibigay ang posisyon na ‘yan sa kultong dilaw. Millions din naman followers ni Mocha sa social media.
“Pagbutihin n’ya lang trabaho n’ya. Bashers will always be bashers. Mamatay sila sa inggit.”
Well, para sa akin, pana-panahon naman ‘yan. I hope Mocha can contribute something to our current government.
Let’s just give her the chance.
Pero heto na… pagkatapos lumabas ang balitang iyun sa ABS-CBN news report, agad dineny ni Fealdon ang balita at ang sabi. siya raw ay “misquoted.”
“She wanted to help us disseminate the information, anything that has to do with BOC.
“Mocha is a very active blogger so I also asked her to please help us disseminate our reform agenda through her blog,” sabi ng BOC chief.
“She advised also on how to improve our social media activities. But there is no official appointment.
“We invite everyone, you can also help us if you want. It’s a voluntary act on her part,” sabi ni Faeldon.
Nag-issue ng clarification ang Bureau of Customs agad-agad.
Ang sabi’y nearly 4 million people have liked Uson’s Facebook blog, while her Twitter page has over 96,000 followers.
Lumabas daw ang reports tungkol sa posisyon ni Mocha pagkatapos niyang interview-hin si Faeldon para sa kanyang Facebook blog.
Sabi ni Mocha, in-interview niya si Faeldon out of curiosity, after many overseas Filipino workers sent her messages to complain about high taxes on balikbayan boxes, and how these packages sometimes don’t reach their intended recipients.
Sa kanyang blog, hinighlight ni Mocha ang laban ni Faeldon para sa reporma sa isang graft-ridden agency, at ang struggle at hirap na alisin ang mga corrupt na BOC members dahil kailangang dumaan ito sa due process.
Kung ito ba ang bayad-utang-na-loob para kay Mocha na isa sa vocal at outspoken na supporters ni President Digong, ang sabi niya’y pagpapatuloy lang ito sa efforts ng kanyang tatay na si Judge Oscar Uson na may anti-crime platform pero napatay noong 2007.
Nang tanungin ang kampo ni Mocha para sa ilang pahayag, heto ang galing sa isang malapit sa kanya na ayaw mapangalanan, “No big deal about this. It is just a title. She will not be paid. She will only be tapped to help in the social media campaign of the Bureau.
“In fact, it will be the government who will benefit from her, and not her from the government.
“She no longer needs the publicity. It is the Bureau that needs her for its publicity.
“So this whole brouhaha is nothing but elitist bitch slapping and slut shaming. Let’s all grow up and stop it.”
