Dahil sa P16K halaga ng camera na binili mula sa tindahan na pag-aari ng kanyang ina, nagkandasabit sa graft ang isang municipal engineer sa Sultan Kudarat.
Kinasuhan ng Tanggapan ng Ombudsman si Arlene Olivar, Municipal Engineer ng Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat.
May probable cause ayon sa Ombudsman para kasuhan ng paglabag sa Sections 3(e) at 3(h) ng Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act si Olivar.
“The charged stemmed from Olivar’s failure to disclosed that her mother owned the store from which the municipality bought an IXUS Digital Camera worth P16,000.00 in March 2011. The purchase was made due to the need of the municipality to document the progress of the Mindanao Rural Development Program,”ayon sa Ombudsman.
Binigyang-diin ng Ombudsman sa walong pahinang resolusyon na ang respondent na si Olivar ay mayroong direct o indirect financial o pecuniary interest sa transaksyon.
