“You didn’t mention Steph,” bulong sa kanya ni Margot.
Tumanggi pa nu’ng una si Kerr, maya-maya ay naalalang may nakalimutan nga.
“Oh my God. I’m such an idiot,” sabi daw ni Kerr sa sarili. “I blew it. I completely spaced.”
Tumayo raw si Kerr, nilapitan ang kanyang astig na point guard at nag-sorry.
“Steph, I’m so embarrassed,” wika ni Kerr. “I forgot to talk about you. You’re not that important to the team anyway.”
Nagtawanan silang dalawa. Pero hindi pa pala natapos doon.
Buhos sa social media ang reaksiyon ng Golden State fans, lalo kay Curry.
Nabanggit ni Kerr si Kevin Durant, si Klay Thompson, pero wala si Curry.
Sa phone interview, sinabi ni Kerr na “horrible oversight” ang hindi niya pagkakabanggit sa two-time MVP, ang halaga nito sa franchise. Dapat daw, tinapos niya ang speech kay Curry.
“What I should’ve done is gone back up there and grabbed the mic. What I would’ve said, what I should’ve said, is he makes this whole thing work. Everything revolves around him. The whole culture revolves not only his talent, his unselfishness, but his joy.”
Pang-finale ang bus ni Curry sa parada. Huli rin siyang ini-announce, at siya ang may bitbit ng Larry O’Brien Trophy. Siya ang last speaker.
