Rerekisahin ng Philippine Sports Commission sa huling quarter ng taon ang mga National Sports Associations, kanilang athletes, foreign at local coaches, consultants at kabuuan ng programa para sa nalalapit na reporma sa sports.
“The President instructed me to take the lead in unifying Philippine sports,” giit ni two-time PSC Chairman William Ramirez kamakalawa kasama sina commissioners Ramon Fernandez, Charles Maxey, Arnold Agustin at Celia Kiram.
“We are talking here of NSAs that has dispute while we honor the Philippine Olympic Committee to set directions,” hirit ni Ramirez. “However, the PSC is mandated to lead, unify and coordinate as the rightful agency under the Office of the President to take care of the sports, the athletes and their directions.”
Inesplika ni Ramirez na may supervisory at visitorial powers ang ahensya upang marepaso at malaman ang kinahihinatnang mga pinansyal na ayuda mga NSAs, athletes, at local at foreign coaches at consultants, ayon sa Republic Act 6847.
Idinugtong pa niyang magpapatupad sila ng mga bagong patakaran sa tulong ng legal department para matugunan ang isyu ng Senado at Kongreso sa pagbibigay suportang pinansiyal sa lahat ng mga sports stakeholders.
