“Would the gentleman agree, if death is imposed, death is irreversible? There’s no question, we trust our authorities… we trust our colleagues that they would decide with our conscience, but all of us are fallible, we can commit mistakes,” punto ni Drilon.
“It can happen Mr. President. There is no one perfect in this world.”
“It’s Jesus Christ. And yet Jesus Christ was a victim of wrongful execution. Is that correct Mr. President?” ani Drilon.
“It happened that way for the saving of lives, Mr. President. Purposely it happened that way,” ani Pacquiao.
Pero nang tanuning ni Drilon si Pacquiao, “Do you mean that the execution of Jesus Christ was a correct execution?, doon na sumingit si Senate President Vicente Sotto III .
“Perhaps he means that redemption would not have been possible if Jesus did not die on the cross,” ani Sotto.
“That is why the saying vox populi vox dei (the voice of the people is the voice of God) is correct. Because the people wanted Barabbas to be released and not Jesus, because God wanted Jesus to redeem,” dugtong pa nito. (Dindo Matining)
Agad namang sumagot si Drilon ng, “And that is why we believe Jesus Christ was wrongfully executed, Mr. President. Because of the wrong vox populi, vox dei.” (Dindo Matining)
