“As we enter into the season of giving, we are here to remind the Duterte administration and legislators in Congress that the promise of clean and affordable electricity for Filipino consumers has been long overdue,” saad ni Power for People Coalition convenor Gerry Arances.

“With the rising cost of living these days because of the increasing cost of other basic commodities, it is already difficult for Filipinos to enjoy the holiday season. How much more with highly unaffordable electricity rates?” dagdag pa ni Arances.

“With the 14,423 MW of coal is still in the pipeline and even encouraged by the President and the Department of Energy (DOE), the Philippines is clearly making it hard for itself to deliver clean, affordable energy to the masses,” paliwanag naman ni Sanlakas Secretary General Atty. Aaron Pedrosa.

“With the delayed implementation of mechanisms provided by the ten-year old Renewable Energy Law, the Philippines has been left out in the global trend of falling electricity prices due to the shift towards Renewable Energy,” sabi pa niya.
