PSI Smart ID pinasubukan sa 1,571 batang Pinoy athlete

Sumailalim ang 1,571 atletang may mga edad pa lang na 15-anyos pababa sa Philippine Sports Institute (PSI) Sports Mapping Action Research Talent Identification (SMART ID) program bago natapos ang 12th Batang Pinoy 2019 National Championships sa City Coliseum sa Puerto Princesa, Palawan nitong Agosto 31.

Nag-random test ang 59 boxers, 25 netters, 49 muay thai artists, 153 wrestlers, 81 wushu artists, 83 gymnasts, 22 dancesports athletes, 33 pencak silat players, 64 swimmers, 79 basketball players, 44 batters, 22 table paddlers at 77 rugby players; 43 judokas, 13 cyclists, 95 volleyball players, 76 karatekas, 34 sepak takraw players, 139 arnisadors, 18 beach spikers, 66 tracksters, 40 weightlifters, 21 soft tennis players, 100 futsal players, 75 taekwondo jins, 32 triathlete at 28 shuttlers.

Bahagi ang PSI SMART ID ng Philippine Sports Commission sports development programs, at pinatupad ang iba’t ibang anthropometric measurements sa mga kalahok sa Batang Pinoy Finals na pinagkampeonan sa pangkalahatan muli ng Baguio.

Giniit ni PSC consultant professor Henry Daut, “We want every Filipino child be given the opportunity to be identified for sports excellence.”
Hangad ng talent identification na makabuo ng database at maitala ang mga normative data sa standing at sitting height, mass at arm span ng mga kabataang atleta sa nasabing edad.

Nais rin nitong madetermina ang specific sports na magbebenepisyo sa mga kabataan base sa kanilang anthropometric measurements.
Pa-overall championship sa sumungkit ang Summer Capital ng 61 gold, 45 silver at 70 bronze medals.
