Pinutakti ng banat ang video ng travel blog na Lonely Planet dahil sa description nito sa Banaue Rice Terraces na gawa umano ng mga Tsino.
“These mud-walled terraces were first built around 2,000 years ago by the Chinese,” sabi ng Lonely Planet sa kanyang Facebook post tungkol sa kinilalang “world’s greenest places,” na terraces.
Agad namang inalmahan ng mga netizen ang katagang ito at inulan ng batikos. Narito ang ilan sa panlilibak at buwelta ng social media sa Lonely Planet:
“The Banaue Rice Terraces was built by Filipino natives, particularly Igorots. China did not invade Philippines in the past nor did they built any infrastructures in our country. Until recently,” buwelta ng isa.
“Disappointingly inaccurate on the rice terraces segment,” sabi naman ng isa pa.
“Lonely Planet, The Banaue Rice Terraces in the Philippines is NOT built by the Chinese,” tweet naman ng isa pang netizen.
Batay sa Encyclopedia Britannica, ang mga Ifugao people ang nagtayo ng terraces, may 2,000 na taon na ang nakalilipas.
Sa website naman ng United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (Unesco), ang Ifugao Rice Terraces “are the priceless contribution of Philippine ancestors to humanity.”
Idineklara ng Unesco ang Rice Terraces na isang Heritage Site.
