“This isn’t just about particular incidents of sexual misconduct; it is about how this university is run because the rot goes all the way to the very top. It goes all the way to the decision-makers who have made it possible that these cases of sexual misconduct could go unpunished for so long,” paliwanag ni Aquino.

“While having a one-on-one consultation with her, MT touched me in my inner thigh. At the moment, I was uncomfortable, frozen in fear, and I felt extremely unsafe,” nakasaad sa mensahe ni Rojas.

“Despite going through all the trouble and waiting for 6 months, she was only suspended for 15 days, more than 12 times SHORTER than my wait for the decision. Take into consideration the fact that MT is tenured and has many connections in the school admin and is in fact part of the student discipline committee. It is clear they are PROTECTING HER,” dagdag na mensahe ni Rojas.

“I urge youy guys to please share this story. Ateneo has been far too lenient and protective of sexual harassers. They have continually protected professors who prey on vulnerable students like me, even allowing those who have been convicted of such acts to return to teaching again. I have been silent far too long about this so now, I am speaking up,” sabi pa ni Rojas sa kanyang Facebook post.

Dumagsa ang mga Tweet ng maraming Atenista: “O SILENCE, NO FEAR, NO HARASSERS WELCOME HERE! ADMIN, TUMINDIG, SA BIKTIMA AY MAKINIG! SEXUAL PREDATORS, GET OUT OF ATENEO.”

“We the Sanggunian, call on our fellow Ateneans to stay vigilant and to speak out on issues such as this. Sexual harassment should never be tolerated in this or in anyother institution. We extend our support to the victims of these heinous acts and admire your courage for speaking out.

Lives are being disrupted and upended by these offenses, and the Sanggunian will not stand by it. We will not rest until justice is served,” sabi ng ADMU Sanggunian sa isang statement.

“We are not satisfied with precedent action. We demand justice, transparency and accountability.–we demand change!” dagdag pa ng Sanggunian.

(DC/EM)
