“That’s why we are trying to ascertain how it happened that the first pass hit the target and the second pass ang layo… malayo na ‘yung naabutan ng bomba. So, there must be some mistake there either those people directing the bomb run on the ground or the pilot on the air,” pagpapaliwanag pa ni Lorenzana.

“Ang sasakupin niyan kung anong nangyari? What happened really? Was there failure to communicate? Failure to actually… Dalawa kasing eroplano ‘yan eh. Baka ‘yung isa nakuha niya nang tama, ‘yung isa iba ‘yung nakuha niyang ano. We will find out. The Air Force and the people there on the ground know what to ask,” dagdag nito.

Aniya, posibleng limitahan na ang airstrike.

“I give those decisions to the ground commanders to determine kung kailangan pa nila ng airstrikes doon especially now there are more troops operating on the ground and chances of hitting our own troops will be big just like what happened yesterday (Mayo 31, Miyerkules),” pahayag ni Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana sa press briefing sa Malacañang kahapon.

“Siguro we have to limit the airstrikes … the aircraft that can deliver accurately their ordinance,” dagdag nito.
