US dedma sa tigil-military exercise ni Du30

Mananatiling “dedma”­ ang Estados Unidos sa pahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo­ Duterte na pagpa­patigil sa joint military e­xercise at naval patrol ng Pilipinas at US sa West Philippine Sea hanggang wala silang opisya­l na k­omunikasyon na ­natatanggap.

Ito ang inihayag ni US State Department spokesman John Kirby, sa kabila ng sinabi ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana na kanya nang naipaabot kay U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter ang nasabing mensahe.

Nabatid na maging ang Pentagon ay tinanong na rin ni Kirby pero nagpahayag na wala pa ring natatanggap na formal communication mula sa Pilipinas.

Giit ni Kirby, hangga’t walang pormal na pasabi ang Pilipinas, mananatiling committed ang Amerika sa alyansa sa Pilipinas.

Gayunman, sinabi ni Kirby na ang mga ganitong komento totohanin man o hindi ng Pilipinas ay taliwas daw sa relasyon ng magkaalyadong bansa.

“I saw those comments, and we checked with our colleagues at the Defense Department.

They’re not aware of any official notification of the curtailment of these activities. Here at the State Department, we are, likewise, not aware of any official notification of the curtailment. So as I said yesterday and as I’ve said I think every day that we’ve talked about this since, that we’re focused on the very real, very significant security commitments we have through our alliance with the Philippine,” ayon kay Kirby.
